Harriet "Hattie" Minette Tillotson was born in Duplain, Clinton County, Michigan on October 5, 1864. She was the daughter of Franklin James Tillotson and Jane Ann Sexton. Hattie married Archibald Carlisle Stockton late in life. Archibald was a widower who had previously been married to Elizabeth J. Swan, daughter of Thomas Galley and Mary Jordan. Elizabeth was a widow who had been previously married to Samuel Sumner Swan. Archibald Carlisle Stockton was born November 25, 1871 (or November 20) in Miller Grove, Illinois to Joseph S. Stockton and Annie Updike, who had moved to Illinois from Princeton, New Jersey.
Archibald and Elizabeth Swan had two children.
Lester Stockton was born about 1898. He married Mildred F. Womscott in Marion County, Indiana on September 16, 1925. Lester and Mildred had two children.
Clifford John Stockton was born in 1901 in Wheaton, Illinois. He married Thelma Verdi "Peggy" Walser on September 25, 1923 in Marion County, Indiana. Thelma was born May 9, 1904 in Alton, Illinois to Ernest D. Walser and Maud Adams.
Clifford and Thelma lived in Indiana. They had one son.
Richard Carlisle Stockton was born February 22, 1926 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and retired with the rank of Commander. Richard worked for Lucent Technologies from which firm he retired.
Richard married twice. He first married Evalyn L. Leach born March 24, 1927 in Muncie, Indiana. Richard and Evalyn had three children. Later Richard married Rosemary Knutson with whom he had two children.
Richard Carlisle Stockton died March 9, 1999 in Beavercreek, Greene County, Ohio.
Thelma married James Mozingo after Clifford passed away. Thelma died January 13, 1978 at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Hattie actually reared Clifford and Lester since Elizabeth died when they were very young.
Archibald and Hattie lived in Crete, Will County, Illinois, and later in Wheaton, Dupage County, Illinois. Hattie died there on March 30, 1923. She was waked at the home of Archibald's brother Raymond Stockton. Hattie is buried in Wheaton cemetery. Archibald Stockton died in 1956.
Clifford was one of Archibald's sons by his previous marriage to Elizabeth Galley Swan.
