Frank James Tillotson was born in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois on April 23, 1880. He was the son of James Francis Tillotson and Clara M. Stahler.
Frank married Jane Georgina "Jennie" Carroll in Chicago. Jane was born in Chicago on June 11, 1883. She was the daughter of David Carroll and Catherine Bryan.
Frank and Jennie had three children, all born in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.
Francis James Tillotson was born June 11, 1910. He was called "Frank" by the family. He first married Mildred Margaret Byrnes. They had one child. Mildred also had one son from a previous marriage. Mildred died July 8, 1973 and is buried in Copperoplis, California. Francis later married Kathleen M. Prible. Francis died July 23, 1995 in Salome, Arizona. He is buried in Copperopolis, California. Kathleen died December 8, 2001 in Chicago. She is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Frank built this miniature jeep while in the U.S. Army's motor vehicle maintenance department. The miniature jeep used a refrigerator gasoline motor, 1 cylinder, and 3/4 horsepower. It weighted about 250 pounds. It attained a maximum speed of 15 miles per hours and got 50 miles to the gallon. The gas tank held 2 gallons of gas. Frank sits in his jeep, while his colleagues Roy Lanning and "Doc" Holman ride in the original "mighty jeep."
Edmund Carroll Tillotson was born in 1915 and died in November 1973. He married and had two children.
Genevieve Marion Tillotson. She never married. She died in March 2002.

Frank died in Chicago on May 13, 1932. He is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Evanston, Cook County, Illinois. Jennie died November 13, 1956 in Chicago. She is buried with Frank in Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral Monday, May 16, at 9 a. m. from chapel, 5438 South Halsted st., to St. Ambrose church, 47th and Ellis. Interment Calvary.
