Annotated Bibliography for Catastrophism: Overview

This bibliography includes both standard references and some important catastrophist references. I've tried to emphasize the lesser-known catastrophist literature since devotees of Velikovsky often don't realize just how derivative of earlier catastrophists Velikovsky's work really was.

This bibliography is very much a work-in-progress. I expect the bibliography will eventually include about five hundred annotated references. You should not interpret the order in which I add references as any indication of their importance. Rather, the order is mostly a function of how readily the reference is to hand and how recently I've looked at it. I haven't read some of these books in over thirty years, so it may take a while before annotations appear for some references.

NOTE: I haven't added any entries since March, 1995 for lack of time. You can find a few more recent items on my page about Books, Articles, and Television Programs on the Dangers Posed by Earth-Crossing Objects.

For convenience, I've divided the references into the following categories:

Some works appear in more than one category. The author index lists all of the references in order by author's last name.
